Update on ULI / mTAP Consulting in Mechanicsville | Please Complete Survey!

Last year, Mechanicsville Civic Association submitted a proposal to participate in ULI Atlanta’s mTAP program which provides the neighborhood with free consulting work from real estate professionals. Our proposal included the need to address the vacant, publicly-owned properties in the neighborhood–specifically the parking lots owned by the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority.

Our application was submitted and neighborhood leaders presented to ULI staff in late November. In December, we were notified that we were selected as a client for the mTAP program.

Over the year, community leaders have been working with the mTAP team to educate them about the challenges facing the neighborhood. To better facilitate their understanding of our needs and challenges, the mTAP has been distributing a survey that they’re asking community members to complete and submit. You can find an online version of that survey here.

Though we are all currently impacted by the effects of COVID-19, please review and submit as soon as you can.

Virtual Meeting TODAY (Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30 p.m.) on Conducting Meetings During City of Atlanta Closure

Good afternoon, NPU Leaders and NPU Planners.

As you know, we have been working diligently to explore options for providing support to the NPUs and neighborhoods, most of whom are impacted by the City of Atlanta’s recent ban on public gatherings of more than 50 people. Today, we tested out a couple of options, and would like to share an update with you this evening at 6:30 p.m. I know this is short notice, but we really want to be able to get this moving as quickly as possible. If you cannot attend, please ensure that someone from your board is present. I will send you a calendar invitation separately that can be shared.

This meeting will double as an update and discussion of options; AND a demonstration of how you might be able to conduct virtual meetings. Please join this meeting by clicking this link from your cell phone, laptop, iPad/tablet, or desktop computer and join “as a guest.” You do not need to be technologically savvy to participate. And feel free to share this email with your executive board members, neighborhood presidents, or anyone connected to your NPU that you think may find this useful.

Filming on Bass and Ira St 3/16-3/17

Title of production: Macgyver Season 4
Production company name: Eye Production Inc
Production type: TV / Series
Production Short synopsis: Macgyver saves the day using everyday items.
Location Name: 381 bass st sw
Prep Start: 03/16/2020 07:00 AM
Shoot start: 03/17/2020 07:00 AM
Shoot end: 03/17/2020 03:00 PM

Dear Neighbors,

CBS Studio Network will be filming at a home on Bass St on March 17th between 7a-3p. We will be prepping on March 16th between 7a-7p and wrapping on the day of filming.

We’ve requested the following from the City of Atlanta:

Filming:

  • North driving lane of Bass St SW b/t Ira St SW & Smith St SW from 7a 3/16 – 7p 3/17
  • West parking lane of Ira St SW b/t R.D.A Blvd SW & Stephens St SW from 7a 3/16 – 7p 3/17

CBS Studio Network is very sensitive to the impact that filming can have on a community. Off-duty City of Atlanta PD officers will be on site during this time to ensure the successful flow of traffic through the area. It is with these issues in mind that we approach the logistical needs of the production so we can effectively work to minimize any inconveniences to those in the neighborhood.

On behalf of CBS and MacGyver Cast and Crew, thank you for your patience and cooperation; it is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions you can reach us at the production office 404-662-4017.

Respectfully,

Ben Smith
