Process for Residential Permit Parking Designation

At our last MCA meeting, neighbors indicated that they were interested in participating in a residential permit parking program in order to limit the impacts that festivals were having on our community and to make any residents-only parking designation legally enforceable. Attached, you will find documents provided by the office of Councilmember Carla Smith pertaining to the process and requirements to make that happen.

As of September 2018, the process requires residents to submit a written request seeking a residential permit parking designation that includes the signature of “one adult resident from 70 percent or more of the residences within the area”. Furthermore, the minimum area to establish permit parking is two contiguous block faces. The caveat is that the petition-signer must be the property owner.
