City of Atlanta announces new COVID-19 Small Business Grants

Greetings,

I thought this information might be helpful to the residents in your planning unit. Last week, Mayor Bottoms announced a new grant program to support Atlanta’s small businesses impacted by COVID-19.

The Resurgence Grant Fund, made possible by a $22 million allocation of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), offers up to $40,000 to help cover pandemic-related costs, such as complying with requirements necessary for businesses to operate safely, plus a credit of up to $10,000 of no-cost technical assistance services.

In addition to the Resurgence Grant Fund, we are planning to reopen the Strength in Beauty Fund, which provides grants of up to $1,000 to cosmetology professionals like hairstylists and nail technicians.

Applications for the Resurgence Grant Fund and Strength in Beauty Fund both open Monday, August 10 and close Monday, August 31. We hope you will help us spread the word and have provided a flyer for sharing below.

It is important that businesses are not only aware of this opportunity but also understand key dates and how to apply. To help with outreach, we are hosting a webinar on Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 12 at 6:00 p.m., which is open to all businesses interested in the program.

As always, please continue to follow Invest Atlanta on social media and check www.InvestAtlanta.com for program updates.Thank you for your partnership in making our economy stronger for the benefit of all Atlantans. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,
Michele Lewis
