Last year, Mechanicsville Civic Association submitted a proposal to participate in ULI Atlanta’s mTAP program which provides the neighborhood with free consulting work from real estate professionals. Our proposal included the need to address the vacant, publicly-owned properties in the neighborhood–specifically the parking lots owned by the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority.
Our application was submitted and neighborhood leaders presented to ULI staff in late November. In December, we were notified that we were selected as a client for the mTAP program.
Over the year, community leaders have been working with the mTAP team to educate them about the challenges facing the neighborhood. To better facilitate their understanding of our needs and challenges, the mTAP has been distributing a survey that they’re asking community members to complete and submit.
